At 9:20 p.m., Joliet police made a traffic stop on Guerrero's BMW near Collins and Clay Streets for a registration violation.

During the traffic stop, officers saw an open container of alcohol in the BWM and officers recovered methamphetamine when they searched the car.

Guerrero tried to provide Joliet police with a fictitious name, but officers confirmed his identity a short time later.

Officers discovered that Guerrero was wanted on the arrest warrant as well as a warrant from Grundy County for failing to appear in court on previous charges of possession of a controlled substance.

During Saturday night's arrest, Joliet police also gave Guerrero traffic citations for unlawful display of registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and illegal transportation of alcohol by driver, and his BMW was towed from the scene.
