Family Dollar Clerk Arrested By Joliet Police

Joliet Police arrested this 20-year-old Joliet woman earlier this week.

JOLIET, IL - A 20-year-old woman who worked at the Family Dollar store on Joliet's east side was taken away in handcuffs by Joliet Police officers this week on charges of felony theft. Alexis Pringle, who lives in the 100 block of Joliet's Walding Road, was put in the Will County Jail around 4 p.m. Monday.

Joliet Police reports outline the following events surrounding her arrest:

Around 2:35 p.m., officers were sent to the business in the 1200 block of Richards Street. An employee at the Family Dollar told officers that "on Friday at close of business, (the employee) observed the register to be short a large sum of money from the total sales for the day. Staff stated that when she reviewed the day’s video, she observed Pringle ring up a gift card in the amount of several hundred dollars," police reports show.

Pringle was arrested on Monday afternoon at the Family Dollar, arrest records indicate.

On Tuesday evening, she was released from custody, jail logs reflect.
