Farragut Students Celebrate Read Across America Day

The Cat in the Hat Makes a Surprise Visit

Cat in the Hat made a surprise visit to Farragut Elementary School to celebrate National Read Across America Day. The Cat in the Hat read several Dr. Seuss books to Kindergarten students to celebrate the special day and left behind rainbow goldfish crackers for the students to eat after reading One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish!

The day was established in 1998 by the National Education Association (NEA) to celebrate reading and encourage children to read. The day occurs each year on the birthday of beloved children’s book author Dr. Seuss on March 2nd.
