Man With Knife Threatens Painter On Ruby Street: Joliet Police
A store patron startled Flowers, and he put the knife away and walked away, Joliet police noted.

JOLIET, IL — A woman who was painting a gas station on Ruby Street found herself encountered by 55-year-old Joliet resident Harry Flowers, who threatened to harm her with a sharp knife, according to Joliet police reports.
Flowers was arrested across from the Ruby Street Citgo gas station on charges of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, the following events happened on Monday afternoon:

- Around 3:15 p.m., officers went to the Citgo gas station at 609 Ruby Street for a disturbance.
- Officers determined that Flowers approached a female worker who was painting the exterior of the business at which time he walked up closely to her and pulled out a pocketknife and opened the knife.
- Flowers did not say anything to the victim while he had the knife in his hand. A store patron startled Flowers, and he put the knife away and walked away.
- Flowers was located across the street and placed into custody without incident and the knife was recovered by Joliet police.
- As for Flowers, he was not taken to the Will County Jail. He was released on an I-bond.
