Fight At Joliet Central Leads To Student's Arrest

The arrest happened at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Joliet Central High School.

JOLIET, IL - Tensions flared at Joliet Central High School on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in a 16-year-old student being arrested by Joliet Police officers on charges of aggravated battery and battery. The arrest occurred at 1 p.m. and the student was taken away and delivered to the River Valley Juvenile Justice Center on McDonough Street.

Police reports state that officers were called to the 200 block of East Jefferson Street for a fight.

"Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated two females were fighting for unknown reasons and when she tried to break it up, a juvenile pushed her and she fell into a table, then to the floor," police reports state.

The victim gave a statement to the Joliet Police explaining that "another male victim came to her aid to help, and was kicked in the groin area by the juvenile. The male victim stated that he heard the female victim yelling for help, and tried to get the two girls who were fighting apart. As he was breaking up the two girls he was kicked in the groin area by the juvenile," Joliet Police said.
