Forest Preserve's 'Buzz' Nature Show Airs Jan. 26
January's episode focuses on the District's new nature center, winter birding and snowshoeing tips.

The Forest Preserve District of Will County’s monthly nature show, "The Buzz," starts off 2022 with an overview of the District’s newest nature center, a bit of birding info and some snowshoeing pointers.
The show will air at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, on the District’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
The show's first stop is Hidden Oaks Nature Center and the Hidden Lakes Historic Trout Farm in Bolingbrook. The Forest Preserve is in the process of buying this 33-acre property from the Bolingbrook Park District.

“Each of our facilities has its own flavor and niche so it will be really interesting to see how Hidden Oaks fits in,” said program host Suzy Lyttle, a Forest Preserve program coordinator.
In the show's second segment, Lyttle said she will urge viewers to become birders in 2022. “Winter is the best time to start tackling birding,” she said. “There are fewer birds around, and they will come to you if you put up a feeder.”

Finally, "The Buzz" will teach viewers a bit about snowshoes and how they can be a game changer for winter hikes.
“No need to sink deep in the snow,” Lyttle said. “Let the science of snowshoes lift you up!”
If you miss the debut of January’s episode, you can view it later on the District’s Facebook and YouTube sites. “The Buzz” also airs on cable stations in Joliet, Naperville, New Lenox, Romeoville and Tinley Park.
