Restaurant Opportunity Awaits Joliet's Jefferson Street?

JOLIET, IL — At a time when Joliet's West Jefferson Street continues to flourish, adding more and more new businesses and construction, the former Arby's fast-food restaurant mostly serving as the short-lived Amigeaux's Sophisticated Street Food, has remained empty. But, it's looking more promising that the restaurant property at 2307 West Jefferson Street may come back to life.

This week, signs have been posted throughout the property alerting travelers that the former Amigeaux's is now for lease. People are urged to call Jay Hardesty to discuss more information about trying to obtain the lease.

On Feb. 22, 2022, Joliet Patch broke the news that the Amigeaux's will no longer be in business. Amigeaux's had opened on July 7, 2021, but it did not last a year. Joliet Patch previously reported that three business partners from Louisiana who owned several Arby's restaurants selected Joliet as their first new restaurant concept, offering a blend of Cajun, Tex-Mex and Southern California cuisine at the Amigeaux's (pronounced like amigos).

"A lot of people are coming through the last week or so trying to come in the entrance, wishing we could have served them already," one of the three business partners, Jeremy Moore, told Patch during the July 2021 opening. "We wanted to get open. There's a lot of big interest around us now. There's a lot of excitement. It's good to see. The menus are set. We're ready to go."
