Gordon Lightfoot's July 30 Rialto Show Has Tickets Available

Gordon Lightfoot's 7:30 p.m. performance in Joliet next Sunday, July 30, could be one of the biggest draws of the year for the Rialto.

JOLIET, IL - One of North America's true music legends, the singer-songwriter most famous for his 1976 classic, "The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald," drops into downtown Joliet next Sunday. Gordon Lightfoot, the 78-year-old folk-pop star out of Canada, will perform is set to perform at the Rialto Square Theatre at 7:30 p.m. July 30 for what hopes to be a truly memorable concert.

Going back to the 1960s, Lightfoot has recorded 20 albums. He has received five Grammy nominations and his songs have achieved five No. 1 radio hits in the United States, according to his artist profile.

If you've never seen Lightfoot live in concert before, or still have the itch to see him yet again, you are still in luck. Rialto Square Theatre still has concert tickets available. Tickets for the Joliet concert range from $49 to $59 to $74, however, additional fees may apply.

Of course, it goes without saying that one of next Sunday night's most highly anticipated moments will be Lightfoot's live rendition of his famous song about the Edmund Fitzgerald, the freighter that sank in November 1975 during a terrible storm on Lake Superior, killing all 29 sailors aboard the ship.

According to the Rialto Theatre's marketing profile, Lightfoot has been busy this summer embarking on his cross-country American tour called "Gordon Lightfoot In Concert: The Legends Lives On."

"The tour will feature his well-known hits as well as some deep album cuts for the die-hard fanatics," Rialto's marketing release states. "The event is sure to be a great thrill for live audiences and anyone who enjoys hearing great music and seeing a living legend in person."
