Harley-Davidson Rider Arrested On West Jefferson: Joliet Police

Joliet police saw the man on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the parking lot of Sidelines Bar in the 2000 block of West Jefferson.

JOLIET, IL — A 28-year-old resident of Joliet saw his Harley-Davidson motorcycle towed away from the scene as Joliet police arrested Alberto Rojas on reckless driving charges in the middle of the night over the weekend, Joliet police arrest reports show.

Rojas was later released from the police station on an I-bond.

Shortly before 3 a.m. on Saturday, Joliet's overnight patrol officers spotted the Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the parking lot of Sidelines Bar in the 2000 block of West Jefferson.

Rojas was squealing the tires of the motorcycle and driving over the sidewalk while leaving the parking lot eastbound on West Jefferson Street at a high rate of speed.

The motorcyclist continued at a high rate of speed and had to quickly change lanes to avoid striking other vehicles.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on the motorcycle near West Jefferson Street and Reed Street and identified the rider as Rojas.

Rojas was placed into custody without incident and his motorcycle was towed from the scene.
