Help Pick The Winner Of The Forest Preserve's Photo Contest
Visit the Forest Preserve's Facebook page to cast your vote for your favorite picture by 11:59 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17.

After one round of public voting, three photos have been chosen as the top finalists in the Forest Preserve District of Will County’s 2021 Preserve the Moment Photo Contest.
Now the public is being asked to help pick a winner in a second and final round of voting on the Forest Preserve District's Facebook page. Voting will end at 11:59 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17. Simply click “like” or make a comment, or both, on your favorite photo to cast your ballot.
Once voting concludes, the contest's first, second and third place winners will be announced. Winners will receive Visa gift cards of $500 for first place, $250 for second place and $150 for third place.

The final photo choices are:
• A male pileated woodpecker nurturing its nestling with a regurgitated meal by Eileen Capodice of Minooka.
• The earthy brown forest floor with golden sugar maples in the distance by Bob Bruining of Lockport.
• A crayfish with its claws raised in the air like a triumphant boxer at Hickory Creek Preserve by Megan Crandall of New Lenox.

Eight monthly winners were chosen by Forest Preserve judges from May through December. In the first round of public voting from Jan. 6-12, almost 2,200 votes were cast on Facebook to narrow the eight photos to the top three.
Photo contest prizes are funded by The Nature Foundation of Will County.
