Help Still Available for Paying Utilities

Will County Center for Community Concerns is still accepting LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) application through May 31, 2016. If you have not applied for this program and are eligible, go to its main office at 2455 Glenwood Ave, Joliet 60435 or one of its many outreach sites to apply. For eligibility requirements please read below or call our office at 815-722-0722.
Households must be at or below 150 percent of the federal poverty level to receive a benefit from the LIHEAP Program. There will be an option to accept a one-time payment to your utility provider.

WCCCC has made changes to its intake process. Applicants are required to bring ALL documents necessary to start the application process. Applicants without all required documentation will still have a consultation, during which we will outline every piece of documentation needed at your next visit to have an application taken. Again, no applications can be accepted if any documentation is missing.
Applications will be taken at Will County Center for Community Concerns located at 2455 Glenwood Ave Joliet 60435, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., or until the daily sign-in sheet is full (whichever comes first). Applications will also be taken at various locations throughout the Will County area. To submit an application you MUST bring ALL documentation required:
- Social Security Cards for everyone in the household
- Proof of all household income for the previous 30 days, including the day of application (ex. Pay stubs, SSA, SSI, child support, and Unemployment)
- Printouts from other agencies (ex. Food stamps, medical card, TANF, and General Assistance)
- Gas/Electric Bills
- Anyone 18yrs or older with no income will need to provide an unemployment & DHS printouts.
- Other documents may be needed based on your household situation. If you have questions regarding this please call the office.
