Homeless Man Asking Speedway Gas Station Customers For Money Faces Charge: JPD

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department announced this week's arrest of 38-year-old homeless resident, Joshua Learned, who was given a notice to appear in court on charges of criminal trespass and obstructing a police officer.

According to the agency, at 6:28 p.m. June 15, officers responded to Speedway gas station at 1621 W. Jefferson St. for a report of a man refusing to leave.

Learned refused to leave the premises after being told to leave by employees after it was determined that he was asking patrons for money and searching the garbage, the arrest report said.

Officers attempted to speak to Learned, who police said initially refused to identify himself. Learned was then placed into custody without incident.
