Homeless Sex Offender Spat on Cop After Slapping Repair Shop Employee: Police
The homeless sex offender spat on the cop while he was being arrested, police said.

A homeless sex offender slapped a Joliet auto repair shop supervisor and then spat on a cop who came to arrest him, police said.
Ivan Johnson, 31, a sexual predator living at the Daybreak homeless shelter, was jailed on charges of aggravated battery to a police officer, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, criminal damage to property and battery.
Johnson turned up at the Auto Doc at 912 W. Jefferson Street about 5:30 p.m. Monday, entered an employee only area and asked about a car for sale, police said.

When he was told to leave the area, he became belligerent and called employees “bitches,” police said. He was then told to get out of the business.
Johnson departed from the building but lingered in the parking lot, police said, and when the supervisor went out to tell him to move along, he got slapped in the face.

Johnson took off but officers found him a couple blocks away at Stang Kelly Liquors.
When an officer went to arrest Johnson, he was spat on several times, police said.
Johnson pleaded guilty in 2002 to the predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. He was sentenced to 48 months probation and must register as a sex offender.
Johnson’s victim was 9, according to the Illinois State Police.
