The couple were traveling back to Michigan after attending a funeral.

MORRIS, IL - The Grundy County Coroner's Office announced that two people were killed late Tuesday afternoon in a fiery crash along Interstate 80 at mile marker 107. The victims were Charles Fuller, 73, and his wife Shirley Ann Fuller, 74. The Michigan couple veered off the roadway while Charles Fuller was driving and they hit a tree, causing their car to erupt in flames.

Grundy County Coroner John W. Callahan said the car was traveling eastbound on I-80 and it left the roadway "for unknown reasons." The double fatality occurred between Morris and Seneca.

Callahan said the couple were traveling home from Minnesota after attending an out of state funeral for Shirley Fuller's mother.
