JOLIET, IL — Joliet police arrested 31-year-old Tasha Babcock on Tuesday night after police say the intoxicated woman went into the wrong house, sat down on the couch and tried to fight the home's residents, refusing to leave.

After being taken away by Joliet police in handcuffs, officers discovered Babcock hid a baggie of cocaine inside her bra, police reports reveal.

Babcock was booked into the Will County Jail on charges of possession of controlled substances, assault and criminal trespass to a residence.

The police call that resulted in Babcock's arrest occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Highland Avenue, on the city's near west side not far from Garnsey Park.

"It was determined that Babcock had entered a residence and sat on a couch," Joliet police reports show. "The occupants of the residence did not (know) who Babcock was and made repeated requests that she leave their home."

But Babcock remained defiant, refusing to leave and trying to fight the people who live at the home, according to police. Even after the residents called Joliet police to the house, "Babcock was still in the home upon arrival of officers and she was placed into custody without incident," reports show.

Later in the night, Joliet police say they learned that "Babcock was at a friend’s home next door but was told to leave due to her intoxication. Babcock exited her friend’s home and entered a different home."

Downtown at the Joliet Police Station, one of the female officers searched Babcock for weapons and drugs and "recovered a clear plastic bag containing a white powdery substance from Babcock’s brassiere. The powder found on Babcock later tested positive for cocaine," Joliet police said.

Babcock was then transported to the Will County Jail around 11:30 p.m. She was released from custody around 8 p.m. Wednesday after posting 10 percent of her $2,100 bail, jail logs show.
