James Glasgow Hired Stepson In SA's Office: Newspaper
The Joliet Herald-News published the story about Will County's long-time state's attorney.

JOLIET, IL - Long-time Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow, who will be up for re-election in 2020, found work for his stepson in the state's attorney's office, according to an exclusive story published late Wednesday night in Joliet's print newspaper, The Herald-News.
The article's headline was not flattering for one of Will County's most well-known elected officials: "Will County State's Attorney Glasgow Says Hiring Stepson Wasn't Nepotism."
The story reveals that Glasgow's stepson Cody Columbus was hired last summer as a special investigator making $30 an hour. The Joliet newspaper reported that Columbus previously worked at the Joliet Police Department, for four months in 2017, and he has been employed as a full-time police officer with the Will County Forest Preserve District since January.

Columbus hung up the phone on the Joliet Herald-News when they called him seeking comment for this week's article, the paper's story reflected.
"He was completely qualified for the job," the Herald-News article quoted Glasgow as saying. "I couldn't be prouder of him. I do call him my son."
