Jerry Patton III No Longer In Will County's Jail

After being in the Will County Jail facing three separate felonies involving violent and reckless conduct, Patton posted his $150,000 bail.

JOLIET, IL — On Tuesday night, for the first time in 2023, Jerry Leon Patton III walked out of 95 South Chicago Street as a free person. The Will County Jail staff opened the doors and let Patton return to his home, in the 8000 block of Joliet's Bluestem Street.

Since Dec. 30, the 36-year-old Patton had been in Will County's Jail since Rockdale police picked him up on his latest felony warrant. At 7:07 p.m. Jan. 31, Patton was let out of the jail after posting 10 percent of his $150,000 total bail.

Soon afterward, a loyal reader notified Joliet Patch of Patton's release from custody in hopes of letting the community know about his return to Joliet.

On separate occasions, according to Will County's prosecutors, Patton injured two different men last summer and last November while provoking bar fights in Joliet, and then he damaged a man's car in Crest Hill and drove over several lawns, striking someone's dog in late October.

"Jerry Patton is no longer in Will County custody as of 7 pm tonight. Time for everyone to know about the public court doc's from every county in Illinois that Jerry Patton has," the Patch reader wrote. "He's a danger to others, he's got tons of (Facebook) live videos that he's posted on all of his different (Facebook) accounts & those videos tell a whole lot of truth."
