What's Your Favorite Coffee Shop In Joliet?
Joliet Patch readers are invited to post their comments.

JOLIET, IL - Since I began writing Joliet area food columns last year, several people have told me they've found these reviews informative. The food columns will remain a Patch fixture in 2019. But last month, my wife offered another great idea. It's a way to showcase area businesses and encourage friendly discussion among Patch readers.
For now, we'll simply call it the "What's Your Favorite?" column.
And we'll start with coffee because all of us, well, almost all of us, are coffee drinkers.

So, what's your favorite place around Joliet for coffee?
For me, it's the Jitters Coffee House, 178 N. Chicago St. It's downtown, in the Joliet City Center.

I've been coming to Jitters, several days a week, since 2017, when I moved back to the area to oversee Joliet Patch. When it comes to coffee, I lead a very simple life. I typically drink regular black coffee and the Jitters staff delivers every time.
Jitters is family owned and operated by Gina Duffy and her three daughters.
It's been a part of downtown Joliet for 15 years now. The staff is super nice. Jitters often pulls in a large lunch crowd. I recognize a lot of the people who work at the Will County Courthouse and the Will County State's Attorney's Office building.

Jitters is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
During winter months, like today, you can find me sitting way in the back. During the warm weather, I'm usually perched at one of the tables near the front window. It's the perfect spot, as a reporter, to watch for action, while I'm on laptop working on other stories.

Last April, I was in Jitters when former Will County Judge Ed Masters refused to back up his car for a truck that was delivering a crane to demolish the former state's attorney's office building across from the Rialto. I went outside and covered the story, which was the talk of Joliet for a while.

Last August, I was in Jitters when a group of 19 leather-vested Harley-Davidson riders from Italy visited downtown Joliet as part of a cross-country Route 66 tour group. They were the nicest people in the world, and they were having a fantastic experience visiting Joliet.
If I wasn't drinking my coffee at Jitters, I would have missed that story, too.
Do you have a favorite place in the Joliet area to stop for coffee?
If so, let me know where it is and why you like it.
