John Majewski Beat Up University Of St. Francis Security Guard: Police

Majewski was previously banned from setting foot on the University of St. Francis campus.

JOLIET, IL - Colleges and universities across the country have a reputation for being open and inviting, but the University of St. Francis wants nothing to do with Joliet resident John Majewski. He has been banned from campus. But that didn't deter Majewski. On Monday, according to Joliet police, Majewski showed up at the University of St. Francis once again.

A security guard on routine patrol spotted Majewski and recognized him. The security guard told Majewski to leave. That's when the 27-year-old Joliet man went ballistic, according to police. He proceeded to beat up the security guard, causing lacerations to the guard's nose and ears. Then Majewski walked away. On Wednesday night, Joliet police officers paid a visit to Majewski's home in the 400 block of Plainfield Road, not far from the college campus, handcuffed him there and drove him to the Will County Adult Detention Facility on South Chicago Street.

He's charged with a felony offense of aggravated battery to a peace officer. His bond was set at $50,000, but he has been unable to post the necessary 10 percent of that and remains in the Will County jail.
