Joliet Arby's Goes Out Of Business on West Jefferson St.

Your days of ordering fast-food at the Arby's on Joliet's West Jefferson Street have come to an end.

JOLIET, IL — If you enjoyed eating roast-beef sandwiches and ordering curly fries at the Arby's restaurant on West Jefferson Street, you're in for some bad news. This Joliet Arby's restaurant has closed. A tiny sign taped to one of the fast-food restaurant's doors informs visitors that "this Arby's is permanently closed. Thank you for allowing us to serve you!"

Arby's abrupt closing comes just a few months after another West Jefferson Street restaurant, directly across the street, Wild Horse Bar & Grill, went out of business in November.

An interesting footnote: one of my most read Joliet Patch food columns from last year was headlined: Rax Roast Beef Or Arby's?

"The roast beef sandwiches at Arby's are good, don't get me wrong, but if I have a hankering for a roast-beef sandwich, I'm going to hit the Rax on Jefferson Street from this point forward. Sorry, Arby's lovers," the column stated.
