Joliet Boy, 15, Open Fires On 2 Fleeing Gunmen On Irving: Police
Joliet police learned that two people opened fire on a house and then ran from the scene.

JOLIET, IL — A 15-year-old boy from Joliet was arrested Tuesday night after two houses in the 400 and 500 blocks of Irving Street were damaged by gunfire. Two other suspected gunmen got away, and Joliet police are still trying to find them.
The boy who got arrested is now staying in the River Valley Juvenile Justice Center on charges of aggravated discharge of a gun, possession of ammunition and marijuana possession.
The shooting happened around 5:55 p.m.

At the scene, Joliet officers learned that two people opened fire on a house and ran away. A total of two houses were hit by the bullets.
After the house in the 400 block of Irving Street was struck by the bullets, a boy emerged from the house, shooting his gun at the two fleeing suspects, missing both of them, police reports show.

Officers searched the house in the 400 block of Irving and recovered 9 mm ammunition and a large amount of marijuana from the boy's bedroom, police indicated. The 15-year-old boy was taken away in handcuffs, but the gun was not located.
Police spokesman Dwayne English indicated Tuesday night's shooting remains under investigation as Joliet detectives work to identify the other suspects.
