Joliet Boy, 16, Fires His Loaded 9mm Gun During FaceTime Call: Joliet Police File 4 Criminal Charges
Further investigation determined that the handgun had previously been reported stolen, Joliet police revealed.

JOLIET, IL — You never know who has a gun nowadays. On Sunday afternoon, Joliet police responded to a gunshot incident and made an arrest of a 16-year-old juvenile in one of the quiet subdivisions near Bronk Road.
According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 1:01 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1600 block of Quinn Drive after receiving a report that a male had discharged a
gun while participating in a FaceTime call. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Upon arrival, English said the officers made contact with the 16-year-old male who denied possessing or discharging a firearm.

"During the investigation, officers also learned that nearby residents had heard what they believed to be gunfire. As the investigation continued, officers identified the 16-
year-old male as the suspect," English announced.
After a parent returned to the residence, officers obtained consent to search the juvenile’s bedroom. During the search, officers recovered a loaded 9mm handgun from inside a backpack, English explained.

Further investigation determined that the handgun had previously been reported stolen. The juvenile was taken into custody without incident. During subsequent questioning, he
admitted to firing the handgun into the ground.
The 16-year-old juvenile was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of a Firearm Without a Valid
FOID Card. He was processed and transported to the River Valley Justice Center.
