JCA hosts annual Placement Exam for Eighth Graders

On Saturday, January 10, 2015, Joliet Catholic Academy will host its annual Placement Exam for current 8th grade students considering JCA for high school next fall. Students are asked to register for the exam by mailing a completed JCA Application for Admission form and $30 test fee to the school at 1200 N. Larkin Avenue, Joliet, IL 60435. An Application for Admission form can be downloaded from the Admissions tab on the JCA website, www.jca-online.org.

Eighth graders should bring two #2 pencils. Calculators are not allowed. Testers should plan on arriving no later than 7:50 a.m. and enter through the main entrance off Larkin Avenue. The exam will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. Students will exit the building at approximately 11:30 a.m. through the south doors on Ingalls Avenue.

Eliminate test anxiety and concern about the testing process by attending JCA’s Pre-Exam Workshop for eighth graders planning on attending JCA and their parents on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. The workshop will begin at 6:30 p.m. Students will receive a brief overview of the High School Placement Test and have the chance to complete sample test questions. Parents will find out “what comes next” in the application process and will be given information about course placement. Please park in the main parking lot off Ingalls Avenue and enter through the main entrance facing Larkin Avenue. Registration is not required.
