Joliet Child Abduction Defendant Lands In Jail Again

JOLIET, IL — One month after Joliet child abduction defendant Froilan Guzman was freed from the Will County Jail after his bail was lowered, the 20-year-old felony defendant was taken into custody by Joliet police on Wednesday night.

A resident of the 200 block of Hebbard Street, Guzman was booked into the county detention center around 12:10 a.m. Thursday. Joliet police said Froilan Guzman was arrested for violation of a stalking no contact order.

Around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Joliet police were called to a house in the 3400 block of Forest View Drive for a violation of a court order, police reports indicate.

"Officers determined that Guzman had sent text messages to a 14-year-old juvenile," police spokesman Dwayne English announced. "Officers learned that the juvenile is named as a protected person in the order and that Guzman is court-ordered to have no contact with the juvenile."

Officers located Guzman at his residence in the 200 block of South Hebbard and placed him into custody without incident, English said.

Back in July, after Joliet police say Guzman drove the 14-year-old girl to Indiana, he was returned to the Will County Jail and booked into custody on July 7.

He was freed on July 14 after his $250,000 bail was reduced to $50,000, jail logs show.
