Denny's Murder Defendants Jailed In Iowa

The parking lot murder happened last week on Plainfield Road.

JOLIET, IL — It may take several more days before the two people charged in connection with last week's Denny's restaurant parking lot murder are returned to Will County. A criminal complaint was filed Monday at the Will County Courthouse by Joliet Police Detective Jeff German includes three criminal charges against Joshua T. Anderson and Bobbie J. Ollom. The pair face charges of first-degree murder, robbery and armed robbery in connection with the April 30 homicide of Gregory G. Brown, 36.

Anderson lives in Chicago and Ollom lives in Seneca, although court documents indicate that she previously lived around North Larkin Avenue in Joliet.

The pair are currently incarcerated in the Des Moines County Jail in Burlington, Iowa. They have been incarcerated there since May 4, bookings for that county show.

Around 10 p.m. last Tuesday, Brown suffered a fatal gunshot wound in the parking lot shortly after eating at the Denny's he frequented.

According to court records, Anderson is 20 years old and his address is listed as being in the 10000 block of South Peoria in Chicago. As for Bobbie Ollom, she turns 24 in July and court records list an address in the 8100 block of Nettle Creek Road in Seneca.

Joliet Police issued a brief news release at noon Monday, indicating that Anderson and Ollom both had warrants for their arrest and both are now in custody.

"The investigation is still ongoing and we will put out another press release if there is any significant change to the investigation," Joliet Police announced.

A criminal complaint at the courthouse identifies both Anderson and Ollom as having "shot Gregory Brown Jr. with a firearm while the defendants were attempting or committing a forcible felony ... robbery ... thereby causing the death of Gregory Brown Jr."

Bail for each of the defendants has been set at $5 million.
