The Joliet Public Schools District 86 Student TECHSPERTS Program Highlighted in New Book

Congratulations to Joliet Public Schools Coordinator of Instructional Technology Kim Knigge who is now a published author. Kim wrote a chapter in the Illinois Digital Educators Alliance Ideas to Inspire Your Classroom book about the Joliet District 86 student TECHsperts program. During the 2019-2020 school year, 35 students at T.E. Culbertson, M.J. Cunningham, Eisenhower Academy, Forest Park Individual Education (I.E.), Carl Sandburg, Taft, Lynne Thigpen and Woodland schools served as TECHsperts. These fourth and fifth grade technology student leaders supported teachers by helping with basic troubleshooting or technology integration projects. The students completed online technology training modules and quizzes to receive their TECHspert status. Kim Knigge and the four District 86 Instructional Technology Coaches, Erin Benaitis, Erin Buteau, Lisa Lynch, and Jill Young, oversee the program.
