Joliet Domestic Abuser Strikes Woman's Head On Pavement: Police
Joliet police took Anthony Dispenza, age 32, into custody and his bail was set at $30,000

JOLIET, IL — A 32-year-old Joliet man from the 2200 block of Douglas Street has regained his freedom after Joliet police say he tried to choke a woman at his place on Saturday night. Joliet police took Anthony Dispenza into custody and his bail was set at $30,000 following his arrest on charges of aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, the events surrounding the arrest unfolded this way:
- At 10 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 2200 block of Douglas Street for a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers determined that during an argument, Dispenza shoved a woman and then began choking her with both hands around her neck.
- When the victim ran out of Dispenza's house, police said Dispenza chased her and tackled her to the ground, pulled her hair and striking her head on the pavement.
- Dispenza was on the scene and was placed into custody without incident.
