Joliet Firefighters Rescue Man During West-Side House Fire
The fire began shortly after 8:30 p.m. Monday.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Fire Department rescued a 58-year-old man who was found unconscious inside of his burning home at 1207 Agnes Ave. on Monday night. A neighbor called 911 after seeing smoke pouring out of the split-level structure around 8:37 p.m., according to deputy fire chief Greg Blaskey.
When the Joliet Fire Department arrived within five minutes, firefighters found smoke showing on both floors. They forced their way through the front door and during their search of the house they found a 58-year-old man on the first floor, Blaskey told Joliet Patch.
The man was unconscious, so firefighters moved him outside and began CPR. The man was taken by ambulance to AMITA St. Joseph's Medical Center. The man was still unconscious but he was breathing, Blaskey said.
