Joliet Gang Member Had Loaded Gun In Crest Hill: Complaint
The criminal complaint includes four charges against this Joliet 20-year-old.

JOLIET, IL — For the second time in 2019, a 20-year-old Joliet man is locked away from society at the Will County Jail, this time, Cesar Chavez Jr. faces charges of unlawful possession of a gun by a street member and three related charges, court records show.
The Crest Hill Police Department criminal complaint reveals that Chavez had a Taurus 9mm handgun and ammunition inside a vehicle on Root Street on Sept. 24.
The criminal complaint informs the court that Chavez "was not inside his own abode or garage and he has not been issued a currently valid Firearm Owner's Identification Card."

The other charges against the Joliet resident who lives in the 200 block of Ross Street include: aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, battery and criminal damage to property.
Chavez is accused of striking another man in the face on Sept. 24 and of damaging a door at Rich Products, court records show.

Chavez's bail was set at $105,000, court records show. So far, he remains unable to post bond.
Chavez was incarcerated between April 2 and June 19 at the Will County Jail after Joliet Police arrested him on multiple charges of aggravated battery as well as theft.
