Joliet Gunshot Victim Discovered Overnight In Remote Location: 'Appears To Be An Isolated Incident'
Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English issued Monday's press release revealing that the shooting victim was found during overnight hours.

JOLIET, IL — In the middle of the night, the Joliet Police Department responded to the discovery of a gunshot victim who was left in the grass in a dark remote area near one of the grand entrances into Joliet Junior College.
According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 3:49 a.m. on Monday, the officers responded to Edward Cwilko Lane, west of Houbolt Road, for a report of a man down.
The officers located a 20-year-old Joliet man lying in the grass with multiple gunshot wounds, English said.

English said that even though the gunshot victim was found along the campus property of Joliet Junior College, "the shooting has nothing to do with JJC," English noted. "We are still trying to piece together and identify a suspect."
Officers and detectives canvassed the area to gather additional evidence and information. Police said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident.
English asked that anyone with video footage or additional information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Joliet Police Department Investigation Division at 815-724-3020. Individuals may also contact Will County Crime Stoppers at 800-323-6734 or submit a tip online at crimestoppersofwillcounty.org/ to remain anonymous.
