Joliet Homicide Victim Jesse Hannah Laid To Rest

JOLIET, IL —It's been five days since the latest Joliet homicide, but the Joliet Police Department has made no arrests in the slaying of 33-year-old Jesse Hannah.The east-side resident died of multiple gunshot wounds near the corner of Elgin and Krakar Avenues in the city's Ridgewood area. A 19-year-old man was critically injured by the gunfire as well.

The shooter got away before Joliet Police cars arrived. The Oct. 10 shooting happened at 1:46 a.m.

Family and friends of Hannah gathered on Sunday at the Farkas Funeral Home, which is at the corner of West Jefferson Street and Essington Road.

According to his obituary, Hannah is survived by three children. He was born and raised in Joliet and will be remembered for being an artist, spending time with his family and friends and being the life of the party, according to Farkas Funeral Home.

"He had a passion for music and played many instruments including, drums, bass and guitar. He was a very talented artist with many different talents. He did tattoo work, he was a barber, loved to cook, a truck driver and was a poet. Jesse was in a few different bands including the Backseat Pandas Band," Hannah's obituary noted.
