JOLIET, IL — A 38-year-old Joliet man who lives on the city's west side was arrested last weekend after Joliet police say he attacked one of his relatives and then he shoved an officer.

Police hauled away Derek Cappleman in handcuffs charging him with aggravated battery, domestic battery and two counts of resisting a peace officer.

Saturday's incident happened around 11:15 p.m., in the 2500 block of Caddy Lane, which is where Cappleman resides. Police say he got into an argument with a female acquaintance, and when police arrived, he kept yelling at her and them.
