Joliet Man, 50, Shoots Gun, Gets Arrested By Joliet Police: Officers

JOLIET, IL — At a time when the city of Joliet has experienced an upsurge in violence including three separate murders during the past week or so, Joliet police have arrested a 50-year-old Rowell Avenue man in connection with a shooting incident.

Christopher Mintz was booked into his Will County Jail cell on Friday at 12:13 a.m. The criminal complaint shows that Mintz has been charged by the Will County State's Attorney's Office with two counts of aggravated discharge of a gun, one count of being a convicted felon with a gun, one count of reckless discharge of a gun and one count of aggravarted unlawful use a of a weapon.

Based on the charges, there is no indication that Mintz shot someone. The incident happened on June 3.
