The bottle-wielding Joliet man was taken to the hospital and then to the jail, police said.

A Joliet man bashed an innocent bystander in the face with a Corona bottle during an early morning brawl at Hollywood Casino, police said.
Anthony Caldwell, 29, was charged with aggravated battery in connection with the alleged 4:30 a.m. Saturday attack. A second man, Angel Mancera, 25, also of Joliet, was arrested on a charge of battery and released on his own recognizance.
Both Caldwell and Mancera were taken to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center. Caldwell was then carted off to the Will County jail.

Caldwell and his pals were “talking trash” to a group leaving the west side casino, police said, and a fight ensued. Mancera was part of the group subjected to Caldwell’s trash-talking, according to police.
Caldwell allegedly hit a man in the face with a Corona bottle. The man struck by Caldwell was merely an innocent bystander and was not involved in altercation, police said.

The man on the wrong end of Caldwell’s Corona bottle reportedly suffered two broken teeth and lacerations to his lip, nose and brow, police said. Caldwell complained of back pain and a swollen lip, police said. It was not clear from reports what—if any—injuries were suffered by Mancera.
