Joliet Man Pushed Disabled Car For a Block After Crashing Into Parked Vehicle: Cops

The bloody man said he hadn't been driving the car, which was also bloody, according to police.

A Joliet man crashed his Kia Soul into a parked car, then pushed the disabled vehicle down the street for a block or so in a failed bid to flee the scene, police said.

Jamie Schmidt, 25, was allegedly intoxicated when the cops came across him about 2 a.m. Wednesday near the corner of Oneida Street and Raynor Avenue.

Schmidt denied he had been driving the Kia, police said, even though he was covered in blood and there was blood inside the vehicle.
