Joliet Mayor Shuts Down Cajun Boil & Bar At Louis Mall

The emergency order was issued Friday by the office of Joliet Mayor Bob O'Dekirk.

JOLIET, IL —The staff of Joliet Mayor Bob O'Dekirk announced on Friday that the Cajun Boil & Bar, located at 3340 Mall Loop Drive was given a seven-day suspension due to Cajun Boil & Bar holding events featuring live entertainment.

Joliet press release stated that Cajun Boil & Bar improperly held a "Friday After Next Christmas Party" featuring "Santa's Bottle Baby Niya Monae" on Dec. 16, "Twerk Joliet vs Chicago" featuring "25 twerkers board party bus from Chicago" on Dec. 17, with music by TMAC WTF, Dre Wicked, and Aintchuleek. The restaurant has advertised an event called "Naughty F#*k Nice" featuring music by TMAC WTF, Dre Wicked and Aintchuleek, that was to be held on Saturday, Dec. 24.

Back in 2021, Joliet Patch published a story revealing that the Louis Joliet Mall had filed a lawsuit against Cajun Boil & Bar threatening them with eviction for not paying their rent.

In October 2019, Joliet Patch broke the news that Cajun Boil had opened at the Louis Mall. In that story, Patch reported that Cajun Boil & Bar marks the growing restaurant chain's fourth restaurant in Chicago's suburbs. Its other restaurants are in Orland Park, Oak Park and Oakbrook Terrace.
