Glasgow Charges Joliet Outlaw With Murdering Katie Kearns

Woody's Bar patron Jeremy Boshears has a $10 million bond in the killing of Katie Kearns of rural Mokena.

JOLIET, IL - On Saturday evening Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow and Will County Sheriff Mike Kelley issued a press release announcing they intend to convict 32-year-old Joliet Outlaw Jeremy Boshears for the cold-blooded murder of his recent girlfriend Kaitlyn "Katie" Kearns, 24. On Saturday, Boshears, a Coal City resident, was formally charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the slaying of the Joliet bartender. She recently began working at Woody's Bar on East Washington Street, an old industrial area on Joliet's east side. The pair met about a month ago and were dating the past two weeks.

Jeremy Boshears was charged Friday with concealing a homicide in Kankakee County where his bond was set at $250,000. He must post $25,000 to secure his release on the Class 3 felony. The murder victim's body was found inside her Jeep near Aroma Park. She was shot once in the head and her body was dumped in the back of the Jeep.

The three counts of first-degree murder allege that Boshears shot Kaitlyn Kearns in the head with a firearm on Monday, November 13.

Will County Circuit Judge Carla Alessio Policandriotes signed off an arrest warrant that included a $10 million bond for Boshears. His court date has yet to be scheduled.

On social media, a Linkedin profile identified Jeremy Boshears as being employed in Joliet at Wunderlich Doors, Inc., in building materials. However, a person familiar with Boshears notified Patch that he has not worked at Wunderlich Doors in four years. "The van that was seen at his house is the van for the company he has been working at since leaving Wunderlich. S&J Door located in Frankfort," the person said.

Additionally, the press release stated, Kankakee County State’s Attorney Jim Rowe agreed it is most appropriate to prosecute all charges in Will County.

"He has agreed to dismiss his charge so that a similar charge can be filed in Will County as part of the overall prosecution of this case," Will County's statement reads.
