Joliet Police Arrest Justin Ford For Driving With Loaded Gun

Initially, Ford did not pull over after a Joliet squad tried to stop him near Theodore and County Line Road, police say.

JOLIET, IL - A 34-year-old man has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon after a Tuesday night traffic stop. According to Joliet Police, Justin H. Ford, 8500 block of Sawyer Court, failed to stop near Theodore Street and County Line Road around 10 p.m. According to police, a patrol officer saw this happen. The officer activated the flashing blue and red lights, but Ford chose not to stop in his Dodge Durango, according to Deputy Chief Edgar Gregory. Instead, he continued driving until he reached Ridge Road, Gregory said.

"He took a long time to stop," Gregory added.

When Joliet officers approached the Durango, they noticed that Ford had a semiautomatic handgun in the backseat of his vehicle, Gregory said.
