Joliet Police Department Looking To Hire New Fingerprint Examiner

Joliet plans to accept applications through Aug. 3, or until the job is filled.

JOLIET, IL - The Joliet Police Department has an opening in its investigations division that it needs to fill. The city is taking applications to fill the position of latent fingerprint examiner. The application deadline is 4:30 p.m. Aug. 3, or until the position gets filled.

The salary will pay between $62,644 and $83,526, plus fringe benefits. Applicants must be certified as a latent fingerprint examiner through the International Association of Identification. According to the city, the new hire will help manage Joliet's evidence vault and the police department's digital property management system. The latent print examiner will also classify, code, compare and record maintenance of Joliet's Automated Fingerprint Identification System, commonly called AFIS.
