Joliet Police Make Felony DUI Arrest In City's Downtown

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department has continued with its efforts to reduce the number of drunken drivers who are traveling along the city's streets, particularly late at night. Last week, officers took 38-year-old resident Stevie Leggions away in handcuffs and called for a tow truck to take away his vehicle.

Joliet police say Leggions was later given his notice to appear in court for criminal charges of aggravated DUI and DUI.

  • Early last Wednesday, at 12:42 a.m., Joliet police pulled over the Nissan Quest near East Jackson Street and Scott Street for improper lane usage.
  • Leggions displayed behaviors consistent with alcohol impairment after Leggions performed field sobriety tests and was placed into custody without incident, English noted.
  • Leggions was also cited for driving while license revoked, parking improperly at the curb and two counts of improper lane usage.
