Joliet Stabbing: 77-Year-Old Lands In Will County Jail
In the kitchen of his house, Enic Pleasant grew angry at the adult male roommate over food, Joliet police announced.

JOLIET, IL — For the first time in 2024, Joliet police have arrested someone who is older than 70 years old in connection with a violent stabbing incident. Enic Pleasant, who is 77 years old, was taken away in handcuffs on Friday afternoon. He's now behind bars at the Will County Jail facing charges of aggravated battery and domestic battery.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English:
At 2:42 p.m., officers responded to Pleasant's house in the 1200 block of Gage Court for a domestic disturbance. While in the kitchen, Pleasant grew angry at his roommate over food.

Pleasant then picked up a small kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the right shoulder, causing a minor injury.
"It is alleged that Pleasant also threw a mug at the victim, striking the victim in the shoulder," English announcing, noting that Pleasant was taken into custody without incident by the Joliet police officers.
