Joliet Teen, 16, Shot, Lyft Car Damaged By Gunfire
Joliet police investigated crimes involving two separate shooting victims Thursday night on Joliet's west side.

JOLIET, IL — Less than five hours after Joliet police and firefighter paramedics investigated a shooting of a 42-year-old man in the 300 block of Pine Street, authorities learned that a 16-year-old boy was shot moments after he exited a Lyft car in the city's St. Pat's Neighborhood Area.
The Lyft car was also damaged by the gunfire that happened around 11:45 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Illinois Street, which is near Morgan Street.
The boy suffered several gunshots to his lower body and legs, authorities said, and the bleeding was controlled by Joliet police. The Joliet Fire Department's Station 5 ambulance brought the teen to AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center where the boy was hospitalized in good condition, according to Joliet Fire Chief Greg Blaskey.
