Pine Street Fist Fight Leads To Gun Violence: Joliet Police
Thursday night's violence occurred on Joliet's near west side.

JOLIET, IL — Thursday night marked the third consecutive night that someone in Joliet was struck by bullets. Joliet Fire Department paramedics from Station 5 responded to the 7:25 p.m. shooting of a 42-year-old man in the 300 block of Pine Street, near Western Avenue.
The man was shot outside the residence, suffering multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and arm, according to Joliet police. The man was alert and talking to paramedics as the Joliet Fire Department rushed him to the emergency room at AMITA St. Joe's hospital.
The criminal investigation determined that the 42-year-old man got into an argument with another person and the two were fighting with one another, police said. During the altercation, the other person pulled out a gun and shot the 42-year-old numerous times, police indicated.

At 11:40 p.m., Joliet police responded to a shooting in the 200 block of Illinois Street. The victim in that crime was a 16-year-old boy.
On Thursday afternoon, Joliet police were also busy investigating lots of rounds of gunfire around Joliet's Cathedral Area Neighborhood.

As many as 20 rounds of ammunition were sprayed in the area of Western, Clement and Campbell streets, but no one was shot during the afternoon gunfire, according to Joliet resident Bob Hernandez.
Hernandez went to both shooting scenes Thursday, producing more of his popular Facebook Live videos. He told Patch that one of his Facebook friends alerted him to Thursday night's Pine Street shooting.
