Joliet Teen Agrees to Buy Car Stereo Amplifier, Steals it Instead: Cops
The Joliet teen was charged with robbery for allegedly stealing the car stereo amplifier.
A Joliet teen met up with another young man to buy a car stereo amplifier but decided to steal it instead, police said.
Teveon Wallace, 18, of 1030 Antram Ave. was charged with aggravated robbery in connection with the alleged 7 p.m. Tuesday heist.
Wallace met with the other man on Lime Street so he could buy the stereo amplifier. Wallace departed with the stereo equipment but did not pay for it, police said.
The seller may not have gotten any money but did get Wallace's license plate number and passed it along to the cops.
The cops tracked the registration back to Wallace's home where they saw his car still running and the amplifier inside it on the seat.
Wallace refused to come out of his house, police said, but his mother gave officers permission to enter and they found him in his bedroom.
