Joliet Townhouse Goes Up Flames Near Ridge Road
The fire in the Sable Ridge area was declared under control at 8:57 a.m. on Sunday.

JOLIET, IL — A Sunday morning townhouse fire on Joliet's far west side in the Plainfield area has left a family without a place to live. The fire happened around 8:30 a.m. at 110 Heron Circle, which is near Ridge Road and the Sable Ridge subdivision.
Joliet Fire Battalion Chief Fred Offermann said the fire units from the fire department made it to the burning townhouse within two minutes. They saw heavy smoke and orange flames coming from the garage of the two-story multifamily dwelling.
All the residents escaped the burning building and nobody was hurt.

Other crews performed water supply, search, ventilation, salvage and overhaul, safety and support functions. The fire was declared under control at 8:57 a.m.
Fire crews from stations 6,7,8,9 and 10 responded to the scene and the fire is currently under investigation, Offermann noted.
