Joliet Woman Kicked After Being Thrown To Ground: Police

JOLIET, IL — A 25-year-old Joliet man remains in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say Nestor Ochoa dragged a woman from her car and threw her to the ground, choking her. The incident resulted in felony charges of aggravated domestic battery for Ochoa, who comes from the 500 block of Prospect Place.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English:

  • At 10:05 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the front desk of the Joliet Police Department for a report of a domestic disturbance from the day earlier in the 500 block of Prospect Place.
  • Officers learned that during the evening hours on August 12, Ochoa was in an argument with the woman while in a vehicle parked in the driveway.
  • During the argument, Ochoa grabbed the victim and dragged her out of the vehicle. Ochoa then kicked the victim multiple times while she was on the ground.
  • Ochoa and the victim went into the house, at which time Ochoa choked the victim. Ochoa and the victim then emerged from the house and Ochoa continued to strike the victim in the face. The victim managed to get away.
  • Officers responded to the residence in the 500 block of Prospect Place and placed Ochoa into custody without incident.

On Tuesday, Ochoa remained in the county jail, unable to post the necessary 10 percent of his $20,000 bail to regain his freedom.
