Joliet Woman Loses Tooth Biting Her Domestic Violence Victim On Nicholson Street: Police

Officers responded to an apartment in the 1000 block of Nicholson Street for a domestic disturbance.

JOLIET, IL — A 43-year-old woman who comes from the 1200 block of Joliet's Nicholson Street remains in the Will County Jail in connection with an overnight incident of domestic violence this week inside her home, Joliet police reports show.

Courtney Johnson was booked into the Will County Jail on domestic battery charges.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 1:15 a.m. Aug. 6, officers responded to an apartment in the 1000 block of Nicholson Street for a domestic disturbance.

During an argument, police allege that Johnson grew upset and became involved in a physical altercation with her adult male roommate, English said.

The arrest report explained that Johnson was placed into custody without incident after officers determined that she had bitten the victim multiple times during the altercation. Police said Johnson lost a tooth, which was believed to have been caused by biting the victim.
