Joliet Woman Wins Chicago White Sox Car In Charity Raffle

JOLIET, IL —For thousands of Chicago White Sox fans, the team's first trip to the American League playoffs in 12 years was a memorable one and brought lots of pride. Now, one Joliet resident will displaying her Chicago White Sox pride as she cruises around the City of Champions for the next several years.

Joliet resident Sherrie Janovsky was this year's winner of the 2020 Chicago White Sox Charities Car Raffle, presented by Mazda of Orland Park. She received her car at ceremony Friday attended by former White Sox star outfielder Ron Kittle.

"Janovsky will be cruising around Joliet in a unique, fan-designed White Sox-themed Mazda CX-30, and we’re hopeful she’ll drive the new wheels to 35th and Shields sometime soon to celebrate the 2021 season," the White Sox announced.

Janovsky will be presented with her new car at a ceremony later this week at the Mazda of Orland Park.

"I am thrilled to have won this year’s White Sox Charities’ car raffle," Janovksy emailed Joliet Patch this week. "Over the years, my husband and I have been loyal supporters of White Sox Charities and the incredible work they do for the community. During this unprecedented time with COVID-19, it’s nice to have something positive happen and to be excited about."

According to its website, Chicago White Sox Charities, the White Sox non-profit organization, works to lift up those most in need throughout the Chicagoland area.
