Joliet's Domestic Violence Homicide Victim Identified
Demetrius Glover, who turns 31 next week, remains in Will County's Jail after being retrieved from the canal. His bail is $2.5 million.

JOLIET, IL — The name of the fourth homicide victim of 2023 in the city of Joliet is Taylor Guerra, a former Oswego resident, according to court records. Guerra, who lived in the 1000 block of Kelly Avenue on Joliet's west side with Demetrius Glover, was found unconscious on Saturday afternoon by her family. They brought her to Silver Cross Hospital where she later died.
As for Glover, he was retrieved by the Joliet Fire Deartment from the dirty waters of the Des Plaines River canal on Sunday afternoon after running away from the Joliet police, authorities have said. So far, Glover has been charged with two counts of aggravated battery by Will County State's Attorney Jim Glasgow.
Glover's charges indicate that he struck Guerra on the head with an object and that he punched her about her body. Glover's bail has been set at $2.5 million.
