Joliet's Love Brothers Rough Up Thorntons Employee On Collins: JPD
Thomas Love shoved the employee and briefly grabbed him by the throat, Joliet police announced.

JOLIET, IL — Kenneth Love and his brother Thomas Love, the subjects of multiple Joliet Patch crime stories this year, were arrested again, early Tuesday morning, after one of the brothers grabbed a Thorntons gas station employee by the throat during the theft of four cans of beer, according to Joliet police.
The Love brothers were not taken to the Will County Jail. Instead, Joliet police released the brothers on respective I-bonds.
Thomas Love, age 36, was released on an I-bond on charges of battery and criminal trespass to real property. Kenneth Love, 34, was released on an I-bond on criminal trespassing charges.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, the following events led to the Joliet police response to the Thorntons at 400 Collins Street:
- The gas station disturbance was reported at 12:01 a.m.
- Kenneth and Thomas Love entered the store and attempted to steal four cans of beer.
- An employee intervened, at which time both Love brothers agreed to pay for the beer.
- After it was determined the Loves did not have enough money to purchase the beer, an employee physically took the beer away from Thomas Love, at which time Thomas shoved the employee and briefly grabbed him by the throat.
- The brothers were still on the scene and were placed into custody.
